Adoro disegnare, sin da bambina. E adoro creare personaggi. Quando un nuovo personaggio esce dalla mia matita (un personaggio con un contesto, una storia, un mondo)... ecco che sono felice e comincio a pensare alle sue mille applicazioni. Allora la mia fantasia galoppa e vedo il mio personaggio decorare borse, quaderni, zainetti, cartoline, magliette, portafogli, articoli da regalo....
Ed ecco che, con euforia e tante belle speranze, inizio a contattare varie agenzie di licensing, italiane e straniere. Qualcuna non risponde nemmeno, ma lo metto in conto. Qualcuna risponde con un elegante "non siamo interessati", ma anche questo lo metto in conto. Qualcuna, invece, risponde che il mio personaggio piace, ha carattere, è adatto al licensing. Mi dice che sebbene sia un periodo difficile per il licensing (vista la crisi, le agenzie preferiscono concentrare le proprie forze su marchi noti e consolidati) vorrebbero vedere altro materiale perché sono interessati a valutare la possibilità di collaborazione. Allora io mi butto sul lavoro e spedisco il materiale richiesto. Poi............... silenzio. Silenzio. Attesa e silenzio. Passano le settimane e mi decido a ricontattare l'agenzia. "Sì, siamo sempre interessati, solo che siamo un po' presi dalla tale fiera. Porti pazienza ancora qualche settimana". E io porto pazienza. Pazienza. Pazienza. Poi la pazienza finisce e allora scrivo nuovamente all'agenzia... che mi chiede ulteriore pazienza.
Passano altre settimane e non oso più ricontattare l'agenzia, così ricomincio a spedire materiale ad altre agenzie e la solfa si ripete. Insomma, so che le mie idee possono piacere e questo mi conforta, ma spesso mi deprime la staticità delle cose. Spesso mi dico che dovrei disegnare solo per me, perché mi rende felice. Ma poi penso che sono ambiziosa e che, in realtà, disegnare solo per me non mi basta. Il licensing è il mio sogno e voglio trovare le forze per riuscire a realizzarlo! Ce la farò!!!! ^_^

material because the agncy is interested in evaluating the possibility of a partnership. So I work hard and I send the requested material. Then ............... silence. Silence. Hold and silence. Weeks went by and I decided to re-contact the agency. "Yes, we are always interested, we are just a little busy with a fair. Please, could you be patient a few more weeks?" And I'm patient. Patient. Patient. Then the patience ends and I write again to the agency ... I they ask me again to be patient.More weeks go by and I dare not to re-contact the agency, so I start to send
material to other agencies.. and the story repeats itself.
I mean, I know that my characters may like, this make me glad and comforts me, but it depresses me to see that things do not evolve, that everything stands still. I often tell myself that I should only draw for me because it makes me happy. But then I think I'm ambitious. Drawing for me only is not enough for me. The licensing is my dream and I want to find the strength to be able to make it happen! I'll make it!! ^ _ ^
